Vanessa da Mata was born on February 10, 1976, in High Garças in Mato Grosso - a small town and 400 km from Cuiabá, surrounded by rivers and waterfalls. It has descent through the maternal grandmother of Xavantes Indians.
You hear everything in childhood. Luiz Gonzaga of the Tom Jobim, Milton Nascimento to the Orlando Silva. Heard also regional rhythms, such as stamp, brought the travel records of an uncle of the Amazon. Heard samba, country music and even music brega Italian, who arrived by the sound waves of AM radio.
Born in California, Ben Harper grew up listening to blues, folk, soul, r & b and reggae. Learned to play guitar a child and set various bands in his teens, always influenced by names such as Blues Traveler, Hootie & the Blowfish, and Phish.
